The latest rumour doing the rounds in the tinsel town is that Vijay will be singing two songs in his upcoming film ‘Kaththi’. However, when we enquired, sources have confirmed that Vijay will only be singing one song and not two. It is also said Vijay is expected to record this song next week. Music for the film is scored by Anirudh and the expectations on the album are high. Directed by AR Murugadoss, Samantha plays the leading lady in the film. The first look posters of the film will be out on Vijay’s birthday, that falls on June 22. Ajith’s super hit film ‘Amarkalam’ has been digitally restored and the restored version was supposed to release on Ajith’s birthday (May 1) this year. However, the movie did not release as planned due to unavoidable circumstances. The latest news that would make Ajith fans happy is that the movie will be hitting the screens on May 16th. An official announcement is expected to be made soon. Directed by Saran, the movie has music by Bharadwaj. Incidentally, it is during the shooting of this film, Ajith and Shalini fell in love and got married later. Get ready to celebrate the cult classic again! We had reported recently that the audio launch of Vasathabalan’s period film ‘Kaaviya Thalaivan’ will happen in June. The interesting news about the album is that ace music director AR Rahman took three months for a particular song and it has come out exceptionally well. The buzz is that the movie will have 20 songs, as it is a musical drama. The movie’s shooting will be wrapped up with the final song, which would be canned by the end of this month. Siddharth, Prithviraj and Vedhika play the lead roles in the film. Director Chimbu Devan had Tweeted that he would soon be revealing details about the Vijay starrer. His Tweet read: “Ungaludaiya aatharavukku migavum nandri. Details about my film with Vijay would be revealed soon :-)”
After wrapping up AR Murugadoss’ Kaththi, Vijay will move ahead to this project and there have been various rumours about the star cast in it. In an effort to put an end to it all, the director has stated that he would soon be coming out with authentic information about this project. Well, fans are certainly eager to know about the female lead in this film particularly as rumour mills state that Deepika Padukone and Shruti Haasan are in talks. Gautham Karthik has signed the deal to star in a movie to be produced by the popular production house Sathyajyothi Films. Incidentally, this production house had produced a number of hits with Gautham’s dad Karthik in the lead. The film with Gautham Karthik will be directed by debut director Raj Kumar who is from the AR Murugadoss’s camp. Raj Kumar had assisted ARM in a few films and has adequate experience in film direction. The search for a heroine to pair up with Gautham is currently on and will be announced shortly. Nayanthara has refuted reports that she has increased her pay packet drastically after the release of her latest flick Nee Enge En Anbe and that she is agreeing to sign the dotted lines only if the movie has a leading hero to pair up with her.
When asked about this in a recent interview, Nayan laughed it off as rumours. Stating that she accepts all offers that has ample scope to showcase her performance, the actress pointed out that all she needs is challenging roles right now and other issues such as pay and stars doesn’t matter. Director Gautham Menon has reportedly called off the shooting of the Ajith starrer that he has been directing. When enquired, sources said that the director is planning to erect a grand set to film the portions involving the lead pair Ajith and Anushka as it is impossible for him to can scenes with them in outdoor locations. As soon as the sets are erected, the shooting will go on full swing. In the mean time, Gautham and music director are working on the tunes for the film and the director has announced that he would be having six songs in the film. Rumours are rife in Kollywood that the Rajinikanth starrer Lingaa is based on the Mullai Periyar Dam issue. Unofficial sources say that the Superstar plays in a role for which director KS Ravi Kumar has drawn inspiration from the British engineer John Pennycuick, who was instrumental in building the Dam. While this rumour is making rounds in the tinsel town, film analysts wonder if Rajini would be touching upon such a sensitive issue at this stage of his career. Well, only an official announcement from the team will ward off all the rumours about Lingaa which is progressing amidst a lot of protests in Karnataka. Ace comedian Vadivelu is planning on his next after his last outing Jagajala Pujabala Thenaliraman failed to get positive results at the box office. The film released amidst a lot of expectations but failed to cash in on it at the box office. Not deterred by that, Vadivelu has decided on his next film. This yet-to-be-titled film will be directed by Yuvaraj Dayalan, who had directed Thenaliraman, say sources. However, it is not clear if the actor will be taking up a historical subject this time too. Meanwhile, there is a buzz that Vadivelu might be a part of Rajinikanth’s ‘Lingaa’. |
