It is known that Superstar Rajinikanth has one of the biggest fan bases, not only in India, but also worldwide. The latest news is that hundreds of fans will walk their way to Tirupathi (Padayatra) on April 2nd to pray for the success of Rajinikanth’s soon-to-be-released magnum opus ‘Kochadaiyaan’. The fans will also pray for Rajinikanth’s health and to see him in more movies. This activity will be led by N Ravi, treasurer of Nellore’s Rajinikanth’s fan club. Directed by Soundarya R Ashwin, the movie has been censored with a clean ‘U’ certificate. It is not only the fans who are waiting for the release of Superstar Rajinikanth’s ‘Kochadaiiyaan’, but also the producers of other movies. The makers of many movies like Maan Karate, Jigarthanda, Jagajala Pujabala Thenali Raman are eyeing to get their film released on April 11th, to make use of Tamil New Year’s weekend. However, there is a strong buzz that Superstar’s ‘Kochadaiiyaan’ might also release on the same date. But, there is no official announcement yet. As the producers are not willing to release their movies along with ‘Kochadaiiyaan’, they are waiting to hear from the ‘Kochadaiiyaan’ team about their release date. Director Soundarya Rajinikanth is planning a special premiere of Kochadaiiyaan for the Hollywood director James Cameron. The debut director has said that Cameron has expressed his interest in seeing this movie after coming to know that the motion capture technology has been used. Incidentally, it was James Cameron who introduced the motion capturing technology with Avatar and the movie turned out to be a blockbuster smashing all box office records. Soundarya has said that she is taking all steps to premiere Kochadaiiyaan to James Cameron and it will be announced officially once the film’s release date is fixed. Superstar Rajinikanth’s performance capture animation photo realistic film Kochadaiiyaanwill be released on April 11 across 500 screens in the State. At the Tamil and Telugu audio launch function of the Rs. 125-crore film at Sathyam Cinemas, Rajinikanth said the film was a return gift to the Tamil audience. “I like stories that are about kings and queens and used to read stories that began with Once Upon A Time…” “I haven’t done a film based on folklore and that’s why I wanted to do Rana but I fell ill. When I heard this story, I liked it more than Rana and as motion capture was used, I did not have to push myself,” he said. He recalled how during the making of the film, he had laughed when he heard his daughter and director Soundarya shout ‘action’. “I then had to ask [director K.S.] Ravikumar to say ‘action’”, he said. It was a star-studded event with Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Jackie Shroff participating along with directors K. Balachander, S.P. Muthuraman, K.S. Ravikumar, Soundarya Rajinikanth Ashwin and Shankar. Music director A. R. Rahman was also present in addition to the producers Murali Manohar and AVM Saravanan. Shah Rukh Khan recalled how nearly 24 years ago, he had seen Rajinikanth trying to throw a cigarette and catch it in his mouth. “It was a learning moment for me,” he said adding that Kochadaiiyaan will lead a change in Indian cinema. Speaking at a press conference, Ms. Soundarya said that the film offered her an opportunity to watch her father perform the Rudra Thandavam with six-pack abs and jada mudi . She said the Japanese audience would be able to watch their “Dancing Maharaja” in Japanese after May when the film will be launched in other languages. Film producer Murali Manohar said that many people wanted to know if the film was a cartoon and said it was a performance capture animation photo realistic film. “When an actor performs, his actions are captured as a digital image. The film took under two years to complete. Next week, we will go to the Censor Board,” he said. The most awaited movie "Kochadaiiyan"-music and background score of the film is composed by A. R. Rahman. The original version as well as the Telugu version of the soundtrack is scheduled to release at Sathyam Cinemas, Chennai on 9 March 2014, Kochadaiiyaan team also confirms that the film will be on screens by 11th April 2014 |
