On the whole, Jailer is a partially engaging action drama that relies majorly on the performance and style of Rajinikanth. Movie Review: Jailer

Plus Points: · Rajinikanth · Performance · Cinematography · Interval sequence · BGM Minus Points: · Weak plot · Second half · Poor screenplay · Editing Performance: Superstar Rajinikanth impressed his fans with his performance and powerful action sequences. He acted very well with his body language, in some action and flashback sequences and with his stylish look. He transformed into a menacing force as the film progresses. Vinayakan who played the main antagonist in the film was menacing and played his part well. Mohanlal, Shiv Rajkumar and Jackie Shroff who acted in guest roles performed well. Sunil who played another key role also acted very well. Ramya Krishna is convincing in the role of mother. Tamannah special song is good. Vasanth Ravi, Naga Babu, Yogi Babu and the rest of the actors also acted well in the scope of their roles. Everyone is fine in their role. Technical: Although Nelson DilipKumar did justice to this movie as a director, but he failed as a writer. Although he tried to beautify the film with interesting characters, he should have paid more attention to the story. Apart from some scenes, there is no freshness anywhere. He led the first half fast, but the second half was too long. The music by Anirudh Ravichandar is good. The background music is very good especially in some scenes. Vijay Karthik Kannan’s cinematography is the highlight of the film. Every scene is well visualized by the cameraman. Although the editing is good, it would have been better if some of the extended scenes in the second half had been trimmed. Jailer is quite lengthy, and it is difficult to sit through the second hour due to dragged sequences. Kalanithi Maran’s production values in the movie are very good. Analysis: Rajinikanth’s performance, Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar’ guest appearance and action scenes are highlighted. Overall, Jailer will appeal only to the fans of the superstar. Jailer is loaded with action and fun-filled moments. Rating : 2.75/5 - Pakka Fans Feast! |
