It has been nearly two and half years since Boologham went into making. Finally, the film went in for censor certification and is now waiting for a suitable release date. Sources say that since Boologham has been made on a budget of 24 crores, which is very high considering Jayam Ravi’s market status, plans are on to release it without too much of competition. It is averred by sources that the filmmakers are waiting for Kochadaiiyaan to hit the screens first and after it is safely out of the way they would go ahead with Boologham’s release. Actor Jiiva, son of ace producer RB Choudhury of Super Good Films, has expressed his desire to produce a film with Ajith very soon. The actor has co-produced the Vijay starrer Jilla along with his father and has been facing the question on when the production house would bring in Ajith onboard. To this question, Jiiva has replied that he is keen on working with the Thala and if a director comes up with the right script, then he would certainly begin the groundwork. It looks like Jiiva will soon come out with the good news regarding Ajith’s project. Vishal was injured on the sets of Poojai a few days ago and the doctors had advised him complete rest for at least a week so that the injury would be healed well. Following this, the team went on a short break. When enquired when the shooting would resume, we heard that it would be on May 6th at the Mohan Studios in Chennai. Directed by Hari, Poojai stars Vishal and Shruti Haasan as the lead pair. In an interview to a national daily, Soundarya Rajinikanth, the director of Kochadaiiyaan, said that with more time and budget, her dream project could’ve have been better. However, the young director has no regrets with the final outcome on the film, which is slated for release on May 9th, 2014. Answering another question on the delay in releasing this film, Soundarya said that it cannot be termed as delay because there too much of post production work was involved. Interestingly, she had won the Indian of the Year Award for bringing in a new technical innovation into the country with the Rajinikanth starrer Kochadaiiyaan. Superstar Rajinikanth’s next film with KS Ravikumar, which is titled as ‘Lingaa’ has gone on floors today in Mysore. The movie started with a formal pooja at Samundeeswari temple early in the morning. The movie has Anushka and Sonakshi Sinha as the leading ladies and they will be joining the crew soon for the shoots. The movie is funded by Rockline Entertainments. AR Rahman has been roped in to score music for the film. Meanwhile, Superstar’s ‘Kochadaiyaan’ will be hitting the screens on May 9th and the film is expected to take a earth-shattering opening. The actress has been signed up to play the female lead in the film Bad Girl by director Shajiyem.
Bad Girl will be made in Tamil and Malayalam simultaneously and the director intends to release the dubbed version on other languages like Telugu, Hindi and Bhojpuri. The film is all about an aspiring model trying to strike it big in the industry and the travails she undergoes to reach the stardom. Sri Murali, a newbie, will be scoring the music for this film. |
