An AIADMK office bearer has lodged a complaint with the CoP, seeking changes in the lyrics, which he deems offensive.
Following the widespread furore over inclusion of GST-related dialogues in the Vijay starrer Mersal, yet another film has got mired in controversy.
The song Sodakku mela Sodakku, from Suriya's upcoming film, Thaanaa Serndhan Koottam, composed by Anirudh Ravichander, is in trouble. An AIADMK office bearer Sathish Kumar, has lodged a complaint with the Commissioner of Police seeking changes in the lyrics, which he claims are offensive and anti-political. Talking about the issue, RJ Balaji who is also a part of the star cast tweeted saying: "Respected Media partner, Thanks but no thanks.TSK has marketing budget for the promotions. But thre are too many issues out thre. People are unable to commute. Kindly do something about it. Instead of doing this, ask ur partymen to at least offer lift to people who r stranded."
Directed by Vignesh Shivan, the movie is a remake of Bollywood hit Special 26, which had Akshay Kumar and Kajal Agarwal in the lead roles and is set against the backdrop of incidents that happened in the late 1980s.
Unlike his Singam avatar where he sported a handlebar moustache, Suriya will be seen in a clean-shaven look in Thaana Serntha Kootam. He will be seen in two different looks in the film, where he has decided to try his hands at comedy after a long time and this shift from regular action films might work in his favour. The film boasts an ensemble cast of actors, including Keerthy Suresh, Ramya Krishnan, Karthik, Senthil, Sathyan, Kalaiyarasan and choreographer Shivashankar, playing pivotal characters. After being on the floors for nearly a year, the film is scheduled for a Pongal. It’ll be an interesting box-office battle as the film will take Vikram’s Sketch and Prabhudheva’s Gulebakavali along with four other films head-on at the box-office for the festive occasion. The film’s dubbed version in Telugu, will have a simultaneous release. Music for the film has been scored by Anirudh Ravichander and it is bankrolled by Studio Green production banner, on a budget of Rs. 90 crores. The film will release on January 10, during Sankranti. The much-awaited teaser of Power star Pawan Kalyan’s Agnyaathavaasi was released on Saturday. The action-packed trailer reminds us of the previous outing of Pawan-Trivikram combination Attarintiki Daredi in which Pawan was a wealthy businessman, on a mission to reunite his family. Meanwhile, Gaali Veluga, the second song from the Pawan Kalyan film was released earlier this week. A music video of the song was released by Anirudh, who dubbed the song as a tribute to Pawan Kalyan.
Agnyaathavaasi is Pawan Kalyan’s 25th film, and this is his third combination with Trivikram, who earlier directed Jalsa and Attarintiki Daredi, both blockbusters. Music for the film is by Anirudh Ravichander, who is making his debut in Tollywood. The first single Bayatiki Vachi Chuste has already become a huge hit. The film is being produced by S Radha Krishna under the banner Haarika & Haasine Creations. For the first time, Keerthy Suresh has been paired with Pawan Kalyan. Anu Emmanuel is also playing an important role in the film. The cast also includes Khushboo, Boman Irani, Rao Ramesh and others. According to reports, the theatrical rights of the film have been sold out for a record price. The makers announced that the film will have a massive release across the USA. Agnyaathavaasi will have the biggest ever release in USA in 209 Cinemark locations which is the highest for an Indian film. Recently the title of the film was announced and the first look poster was launched, which fans dubbed a perfect blend of class and mass, calling it a unique trait of both Pawan Kalyan and director Trivikram Srinivas. The film is stated to release on Sankranti. KEERTHY PLAYS SAVITRI IN 'NADIGAIYAR THILAGAM'. Keerthy Suresh is fast emerging as one of the finest heroines in the film industry, and the roles that she has been bagging proves this beyond doubt. The young actor is busy with a slew of films in Tamil and Telugu, and the most challenging role that she has ever done happens to be the role she plays in the bilingual Mahanati / Nadigayar Thilgam, in which she is playing legendary actor Savitri.
Speaking about the film, Savitri said, “90% of the audience only knows Savitri through her onscreen image. To bring out that difference was the tough part. It’s been a genuinely challenging experience to play Savitri. There are a few sequences from her original films; we have done a scene from Maya Bazaar and a portion of a song from the film. I had to work hard because I cannot use my imagination and have to be completely in her shoes. She was a person who would give 100 expressions in 10 seconds. The way her bold eyes and her lips express an emotion — it is impractical to replicate her precisely. But I wanted to give my best. I have more than 100 costumes (changes) in this film. Savitri’s appearance also changes with age in the film, so we had to go in for a makeover at each stage.” Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film has a plethora of stars in the cast including Mohan Babu, Dulquer Salmaan, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Vijay Deverakonda, Shalini Pandey and Prakash Raj in pivotal roles. It may be noted here that Dulquer plays Savitri’s husband actor Gemini Ganesan in the film, which is being bankrolled by Vyjayanthi Movies. While this film’s release date is yet to be announced, Keerthy Suresh’s will have two film releases this Sankaranthi – Suriya’s Thaana Serntha Kootam and Pawan Kalyan’s Agnathavasi. Mollywood |
