With some organizations threatening a stir against the release of Vadivelu’s Jagajala Pujabala Thenaliraman, the producers of the film, AGS Entertainment, have released a press note reiterating that it is a completely fictitious story that has no connection with the real-life Thenaliraman and King Krishnadevarayar of the Vijayanagar Kingdom.
According to the press note released: “The Tamil film titled ‘Thenaliraman’ produced by us is an Imaginary story conceived on the basis of ‘Tenaliraman’ moral stories etc. This film reflects neither the life history of ‘Tenaliraman’ nor that of any person with whom said ‘Tenaliraman” is associated with / lived with. The story of the film is an imaginary one reflecting the life style of people who lived in B.C 15th Century in the back drop of the present happenings and events. All characters appearing in this work are fictitious. Any resemblances to real persons, living or dead are purely coincidental.”
