According to the grapevine, Sudeep has given his go ahead. Reports emerging from the film industry say that Kiccha Sudeep and Dhanush will soon collaborate. Sources in the know say that Dhanush was recently in Bengaluru to narrate a one liner to Sudeep and the latter was impressed with it and has given his go ahead.
However, there are no other details available about this project currently. Dhanush, who made his directorial debut with Pa Paandi, a smash hit, is looking forward to wield the megaphone for his next. The buzz is that this film will be set in the pre-independence era and being his dream project, Dhanush is putting in all his efforts. It is still unclear if he intends to make the film with Sudeep in Tamil or in Kannada or both. Further, sources say that Sudeep’s role might have tinges of grey as well. Both Dhanush and Sudeep are among the busiest actors in tinsel town right now with a slew of films. While Dhanush has Enai Nokki Paayum Thotta, Maari and Vada Chennai in different stages of production apart from the Hollywood movie The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir, Sudeep is also busy with a number of film including The Villain and Phailwan in Kannada and Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy in Telugu besides the Hollywood flick Risen. Sudeep is currently bankrolling the Sandalwood film Ambi Ning Vayassaythounder his own banner. The film has Ambarish playing the lead role and Sudeep will be making a cameo appearance in it. It may be mentioned here that Ambi Ning Vayassaytho is the remake of the Tamil blockbuster Pa Paandi, which marked the directorial debut of Dhanush. With both the stars occupied with a bunch of projects that could keep them busy for the next several months, it is yet to be known when their film together will commence. THE FILM WAS RUMOURED TO HAVE BEEN STALLED BECAUSE THE PRODUCER HADN'T CLEARED DHANUSH'S DUES FOR 'KODI'. Dhanush's Enai Noki Paayum Thota, which marks his first time collaboration with filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon, was launched with much fanfare sometime last year. For reasons unknown, the shoot of the project was stalled just when it was on the verge of completion.
The industry grapevine is that the project was on the back burner for a few months as producer Madan, who had bankrolled Dhanush's Kodi, hadn't cleared his remuneration for a long time and that the latter gave up on the project. On Tuesday, the film finally resumed shooting in and near OMR in Chennai. The film will be wrapped up by this year-end and the team is hopeful of releasing the film in February 2018. "The film is back on track. The last schedule will be completed in the next couple of weeks. Dhanush has shaved off his thick beard for this portion. He plays a college student and will be seen sporting a clean-shaven look throughout the film," a source from the film's unit said. Tipped to be a campus-based action drama, the film has music by Darbuka Siva whose identity was kept a secret for a long time. The makers promoted him as MR.X to create curiosity amongst fans. The idea paid off as the songs were extremely well received. There were rumours that A.R Rahman was the composer of the album after the phenomenal response to the first single of the album. For months, the makers dodged every speculation and maintained secrecy about the composer's name. Dhanush will wrap up this schedule and then grow back his moustache for Maari 2, in which he will be seen playing a dhoti-clad, mustache-twirling gangster. Sai Pallavi has been signed as the leading lady while Tovino Thomas plays the antagonist. Balaji Mohan will helm the sequel, which is slated to hit the screens during the summer of 2018. Every week there has been one announcement from Balaji Mohan about the cast and crew of his next project, Maari 2 with Dhanush in the lead. This sequel already has Malayalam sensation, Sai Pallavi playing the female lead, while Tovino Thomas will be the antagonist. Yesterday, the team announced that actor Krishna would be playing the second male lead and it just raised up the expectations set on this project.
One of the factors which the team has been holding in is the name of the music director of the movie. A large section of the audience is expecting Anirudh to return and collaborate with Dhanush due to the massive success they had tasted with the music of Maari. Our sources tell us that after a long gap of 9 years, Dhanush is expected to collaborate with Yuvan Shankar Raja to score the music for his film. Yaaradi Nee Mohini was the last time the two worked together on a movie, though Dhanush did sing a couple of songs for Yuvan in the meantime. Though there has been no official confirmation on the same, we know very well that if this combination comes together, it is a sure shot success! ![]() Soundarya R Ashwin is making her directorial debut with Superstar Rajinikanth’s magnum opus ‘Kochadaiyaan’ and interestingly, the movie is India’s first film that is shot completely on motion capture technology. In a recent interaction with the media, Soundarya revealed that she wishes to direct her brother-in-law Dhanush, but being such a senior actor, she is doubtful if he would give his dates. Soundarya also lavishly praised Dhanush for his brilliant performance in ‘Raanjhanaa’. She added that Dhanush had fit into the role of ‘Kundan’ perfectly. After directing her father, will Soundarya get a chance to direct her brother-in-law? Well, we will have to wait to know. ![]() It is known that Sivakarthikeyan and Dhanush share a great rapport and Dhanush had produced ‘Ethir Neechal’ with Sivakarthikeyan in the lead before. He is also producing ‘Taana’ now for Siva, which is directed by Durai Senthil Kumar. Interestingly, Dhanush found it difficult to sell his ‘Vellaiyilla Pattadhari’, and when Ayngaran approached Dhanush to acquire the rights of ‘Taana’, he also sold VIP to them. ‘Vellaiyilla Pattadhai’ is Dhanush’s 25th film and it is directed by cinematographer-turned-director Velraj. Amala Paul is paired opposite Dhanush in the film and music is scored by Anirudh. |
