Rumours are rife in Kollywood that the Rajinikanth starrer Lingaa is based on the Mullai Periyar Dam issue. Unofficial sources say that the Superstar plays in a role for which director KS Ravi Kumar has drawn inspiration from the British engineer John Pennycuick, who was instrumental in building the Dam.
While this rumour is making rounds in the tinsel town, film analysts wonder if Rajini would be touching upon such a sensitive issue at this stage of his career. Well, only an official announcement from the team will ward off all the rumours about Lingaa which is progressing amidst a lot of protests in Karnataka.
Sources are rife with the news that director KS Ravi Kumar is likely to sign up two comedians – Santhanam and Vadivelu – for Lingaa. It is said that the story requires the presence of two comedians and it is Rajini’s wish to have Vadivelu in the star cast.
Talks are on with the Tenaliraman hero to play the comedian in Lingaa and it is likely that he may sign on the dotted lines very soon. Lingaa, produced by Rockline Venkatesh, stars Sonakshi Sinha and Anushka as the heroines for Rajinikanth. AR Rahman is scoring the music for this venture.
Superstar Rajinikanth – KS Ravikumar’s ‘Lingaa’ went on floors earlier today and there is a fresh buzz about the movie. It looks like Santhanam might be a part of this prestigious project, as ‘Lingaa’ team has approached the Comedy Superstar to do an important role. However, Santhanam is yet to agree to do the film as he needs to work around his dates.
It is worth mentioning that Anushka and Sonakshi Sinha play the leading ladies, while Jagapathi Babu plays the antagonist in the film. AR Rahman will be in charge of music for the film. Watch this space for more updates on this!
Superstar Rajinikanth’s next film with KS Ravikumar, which is titled as ‘Lingaa’ has gone on floors today in Mysore. The movie started with a formal pooja at Samundeeswari temple early in the morning. The movie has Anushka and Sonakshi Sinha as the leading ladies and they will be joining the crew soon for the shoots. The movie is funded by Rockline Entertainments.
