Industry grapevine is that director Siva is trying hard to convince Anirudh to come on board. On November 23, it was officially announced that Ajith will once again team up with director Siva for his upcoming project, titled Viswasam. After Vivegam, this film would mark the fourth collaboration of the duo. In December, the team had a formal pooja along with the technicians and members of the production house, Sathyajyothi Films.
A few weeks back, it was confirmed that Yuvan Shankar Raja has been roped in as the music director for Viswasam, touted to be a rural-based entertainer. However, Yuvan has now backed out of the project, due to unknown reasons. A source close to the composer reveals that he was in talks with director Siva and Sathyajyothi Films. Another source tells that director Siva is considering Anirudh Ravichander and other music directors to compose for Viswasam. The team is also on the lookout for a suitable heroine for this village-based flick. Earlier, the team was in talks with Anushka Shetty for the same, but it looks like she hasn't signed the project. The shooting of Viswasam is slated to commence sometime in January 2018 and is scheduled to release for Diwali 2018. Ajith has ditched his salt-and-pepper look and has had his hair coloured black for his role in the movie. The technical team of Viswasam includes cinematographer Vetri and editor Antony Ruben. Every week there has been one announcement from Balaji Mohan about the cast and crew of his next project, Maari 2 with Dhanush in the lead. This sequel already has Malayalam sensation, Sai Pallavi playing the female lead, while Tovino Thomas will be the antagonist. Yesterday, the team announced that actor Krishna would be playing the second male lead and it just raised up the expectations set on this project.
One of the factors which the team has been holding in is the name of the music director of the movie. A large section of the audience is expecting Anirudh to return and collaborate with Dhanush due to the massive success they had tasted with the music of Maari. Our sources tell us that after a long gap of 9 years, Dhanush is expected to collaborate with Yuvan Shankar Raja to score the music for his film. Yaaradi Nee Mohini was the last time the two worked together on a movie, though Dhanush did sing a couple of songs for Yuvan in the meantime. Though there has been no official confirmation on the same, we know very well that if this combination comes together, it is a sure shot success! ![]() There is some good news for Suriya fans, who are waiting to catch a glimpse of his upcoming film ‘Anjaan’ with director Lingusamy. UTV Dhananjayan has tweeted “Lingusamy sir assures to give the first look Advt of Anjaan on 14th April…I am trying to ensure this happens to delight all fans.” It is worth mentioning that Suriya will be playing dual roles in the film and Samantha plays his love interest. The teaser is expected to be released by the end of this month. Music is scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja. ![]() Yuvan is reported to have declined some very good offers in the recent past. When enquired about this, we came to know that the musician is keen on releasing his own private album and has been putting in a lot of effort in this direction. It may be remembered here that he opted out of Vadacurry after scoring the music for a single song citing time constraints as the reason. But sources are now abuzz with the news that he is completely occupied with this album which he intends to present to his fans as a musical treat. Let’s wait for the album, then! |
