Watch 'Police 2'!This is a must-watch for fans of both actors - watch them take on Aravind Swamy and Arun Vijay, the villains in this video. Ajith and Vijay are undoubtedly among the biggest stars in the Tamil film industry today. Both actors have an enormous fanbase and although they share a friendly relationship with each other, their fans are forever at each other's throats. The release of every film is accompanied by trolling from the other camp. But what if Ajith and Vijay came together for a cop film? And even better, what if it also starred Arvind Swamy and Arun Vijay? With some slick editing by Gokul Venkat, this video put together by GV Media Works (GV Prakash) is titled Police 2. The video has scenes from Theri, Yennai Arindhal, Jilla and Thani Oruvan. The film has both Ajith and Vijay playing cops and one shot even has both of them together! This is sure to give fans from both camps goosebumps as they hit back at the goons. Arun Vijay and Aravind Swamy play the villains who are pitched against the two cops. The last sequence has Arun Vijay targeting Ajith and Vijay coming in to the latter's aid. The film ends with Arun Vijay running and the words 'To Be Continued' appearing on screen, even as he vows to take revenge. The video has garnered over 7 lakh hits and several users have appreciated the team's efforts to bring together two of Tamil Nadu's most loved stars. In 2017, both Ajith and Vijay had released a press statement asking fans not to indulge in abuse. However, their releases last year - Vivegam as well as Mersal and Bairavaa saw fans from either camp unleashing memes and negative reviews as soon as the films hit the screens. Watch: Industry grapevine is that director Siva is trying hard to convince Anirudh to come on board. On November 23, it was officially announced that Ajith will once again team up with director Siva for his upcoming project, titled Viswasam. After Vivegam, this film would mark the fourth collaboration of the duo. In December, the team had a formal pooja along with the technicians and members of the production house, Sathyajyothi Films.
A few weeks back, it was confirmed that Yuvan Shankar Raja has been roped in as the music director for Viswasam, touted to be a rural-based entertainer. However, Yuvan has now backed out of the project, due to unknown reasons. A source close to the composer reveals that he was in talks with director Siva and Sathyajyothi Films. Another source tells that director Siva is considering Anirudh Ravichander and other music directors to compose for Viswasam. The team is also on the lookout for a suitable heroine for this village-based flick. Earlier, the team was in talks with Anushka Shetty for the same, but it looks like she hasn't signed the project. The shooting of Viswasam is slated to commence sometime in January 2018 and is scheduled to release for Diwali 2018. Ajith has ditched his salt-and-pepper look and has had his hair coloured black for his role in the movie. The technical team of Viswasam includes cinematographer Vetri and editor Antony Ruben. It is learnt through sources that Sathya Jyothi Films, which had bankrolled Vivegam, will be producing Veeram 2 as well. Director Siva and Ajith may go on to team up again. According to the buzz, the director is working on a script which is most likely to be a sequel to Veeram. Siva first directed Ajith in Veeram, which was a massive hit and then wielded the megaphone for two other Ajith starrers Vedhalam and Vivegam.
Reports indicate that the duo is comfortable working together and considering the grand box office success of Veeram, they intend to go ahead with a sequel for it. It is learnt through sources that Sathya Jyothi Films, which had bankrolled Vivegam, will be producing Veeram 2 as well. Veeram was a village-based subject and its sequel will also be on the same lines. The film had Tammannah pairing up with Ajith. Those in the supporting cast included Vidharth, Bala, Vidyullekha Raman, Santhanam and Nassar. Devi Sri Prasad has composed tunes for Veeram with Vetri cranking the camera and Kasi Viswanathan editing it. Ever since Vivegam hit the marquee, there have been reports that Siva and Ajith would collaborate for the fourth time. However, there is no official word on it from either side till now. Ajith, according to sources, will be taking a break till January and decide on his next in 2018. There is a strong possibility of an official word about Veeram 2 coming up next year. Interestingly, if this happens, it would be the first time Ajith is collaborating with a director for the fourth time. And more importantly, the film’s title will begin with V, which would be apt for sentimental reasons. Thala Ajith has had a long history of successful double-role and multi-role flicks and memorable films such as Vaali, Citizen, Villain, Varalaru and Billa are shining examples of the star's prowess at pulling off such roles with ease.
His upcoming movie with Gautham Menon also looks like a probable addition to Ajith's illustrious double-role films. The film's shoots recently happened in the outskirts of Chennai along the OMR (Old Mahabalipuram Road) and a little birdie at the location was heard saying that the star was playing dual roles - that of a policeman and also the villain in the film. The film's shoots are mostly being done at night in Chennai and 2 schedules have already been completed. Ajith is currently sporting his natural gray hair and a neat crew cut. We have to see if he would go for another look, if he is indeed playing a dual role as speculated. We will keep you posted. ![]() Ajith’s super hit film ‘Amarkalam’ has been digitally restored and the restored version was supposed to release on Ajith’s birthday (May 1) this year.
