 Sonakshi Sinha has been roped in to play the female lead opposite Superstar Rajinikanth. Confirming that this film will go on floors in May this year, the pretty actress also revealed that it is an action entertainer.
There have been speculations that Rajini’s next would also be an animation film on the lines of Kochadaiiyaan, but according to Sonakshi it is a complete action-packed entertainer that all Rajini fans will love. To be directed by KS Ravi Kumar, this film is expected to hit the screens later this year or early next year.  Finally, there is some good news for Superstar Rajinikanth’s ardent fans, as reliable sources have confirmed that ‘Kochadaiyaan’ will most probably hit the screens on May 1st. The official press release is expected to be out by this weekend and also the advertisements on newspapers will soon be carrying the release date. It is worth mentioning that the movie has completed the censor formalities and it has got a clean ‘U’ certificate.
Directed by Soundarya R Ashwin, the movie is India’s first film to be completely shot using motion capture technology. Music is by AR Rahman and the cast includes Deepika Padukone, Shobhana, Aadhi, Sarathkumar and Nassar.  Few days ago, we had reported that Superstar Rajinikanth might romance Sonakshi Sinha in his upcoming film with KS Ravikumar, and Anushka might bag the role of the other heroine. Well, it is now certain that Sonakshi Sinha has signed the deal and the actress has confirmed the news herself.
The movie is expected to be shot in Mysore and it will be hitting the screens by the end of this year. The movie will be produced by Rockline Venkatesh and the rest of the cast details is expected to be announced soon. Stay tuned for more updates on this biggie!  A British-based organization, Asian Awards, releases a list of top 100 most influential persons in Asia every year and this year’s list was released yesterday, April 6th, 2014. Interestingly, Superstar Rajinikanth features in this list and has been placed in the 66th spot while his counterpart and close buddy Amitabh Bachchan is in the 63rd place.
Chinese Premier Chi Jiang and Congress President Sonia Gandhi have managed to grab the first and second place respectively. BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Modi is placed in the fourth spot and Rahul Gandhi in the fifth place, it may be noted here.  Ever since the news made it to the media that the Rajinikanth starrer Kochadaiiyaan has been certified with a clean ‘U’ certificate without any cuts, media persons started to raise the question on how the film could be censored when its director Soundarya Ashwin was in China for the final post production works.
It has now been clarified that the certificate was given only for the 2D version of the film, which is complete and not for the much-hyped 3D and Hindi versions. Soundarya was busy with the 3D version’s post production work when the film was censored, it has been clarified. So, it is now clear that the filmmakers and censor board officials did not flout any rules.  Vishal has said that when he met Rajinikanth, the Superstar wanted to know the story of Naan Sigappu Manithan as he had starred in a film with the same title several years ago.
When director Thiru narrated the story; particularly about the ‘Narcolepsy’ part, the Superstar was very excited that he had told him that he would like to know how the screenplay is set. This interest evinced by the Superstar has the entire team happy as they could gauge that the film has a lot of expectations among the audiences ever since the teaser release.  Superstar Rajinikanth’s ‘Baasha’, directed by Suresh Krishna, was one of the biggest blockbusters in the 1990s and many people have been asking the Superstar to act in a sequel to it. Actor Vivek, who interviewed Rajinikanth recently also asked the same question to Superstar and managed to get his response.
Rajinikanth has replied by stating that the success of Baasha can never be repeated and making a sequel will not do justice to the original cult classic. This seems to be a wise decision by the Superstar as we have seen many sequels of blockbuster hits failing to impress the audience.  We had already reported that after the release of ‘Kochadaiiyaan’, Superstar Rajinikanth is expected to act in KS Ravikumar’s film. Trade sources revealed that Anushka is likely to be paired opposite Rajinikanth in the film. The latest info is that Sonakshi Sinha will also be a part of the film.
It looks like Anushka has already agreed to do the film, while Sonakshi is yet to sign the film. An official announcement about the cast and crew is expected to come out after Kochadaiyaan’s release. An interesting information about Rajinikanth was revealed at the trailer launch of Hindi version of ‘Kochadaiyaan’.
While speaking at the grand event, Amitabh Bachchan stated that Rajinikanth wanted to retire from films after ‘Enthiran’, but Amitabh suggested him to continue working. Well, the fans cannot see Rajinikanth retiring from film, as they wish to see him doing movies forever. |
